Arts Council Silicon Valley Receives $25K in HP Equipment
HP Corporation Donates Computer Products
San Jose, CA, November 12, 2003 – Arts Council Silicon Valley received computer office products valued at $25,000 from HP this week. This significant in-kind gift will allow the largest non-profit arts council in the state to operate more efficiently using the latest state-of-the art technology.
The donation includes new Pentium computers, flat panel monitors, color inkjet printers, a digital projector and additional computer and photo equipment. The computers will provide greater storage capacity for data while the photo and graphics equipment will significantly enhance the marketing capabilities of the organization. Non-profit organizations typically cannot afford the newest technology that makes tasks easier and less costly. However, this donation puts the Arts Council in a new league and will enable the staff to work more effectively on behalf of over 130 arts organizations and artists.
“We’re extremely grateful to HP for this generous and very useful donation,” said Bruce W. Davis, Executive Director of Arts Council Silicon Valley. “This equipment will allow us to bring some of the services we’ve been outsourcing in-house, which will ultimately be a cost savings to the organization.”
Shawna Holmes, California Regional Public Affairs Manager at HP added “A part of HP’s commitment to global citizenship is that we be an asset to the communities in which we do business. HP is proud to provide technology tools to the Arts Council---enabling them to more effectively and efficiently serve the many local arts and cultural organizations in our community.”
Incorporated in 1983, Arts Council Silicon Valley is celebrating its 20th anniversary as an independent regional arts agency providing funding and advocacy support, and marketing and fundraising services to the region’s arts organizations and artists. As the official state/local partner with the California Arts Council and the County of Santa Clara, Arts Council Silicon Valley is now the largest nonprofit arts council in the state. Over the past 11 years the Arts Council has distributed $6.5 million to local arts and cultural organizations, individual artists, schools and community groups
