Capacity Building
Arts Council Silicon Valley offers training sessions by top-notch consultants who provide basic, practical, hands-on training to local arts organizations. We present these workshops, as requested by our constituent groups, in order to support their efforts to attain a level of sustainability by strengthening organizational structure, developing fund raising strategies, improving marketing/public awareness, and increasing audience/community participation.

Social Media Audit | Ron Evans, Groupofminds
This proprietary online arts marketing audit and improvement system has been adapted to our workshop series. Participants must attend two sessions - January 30 and April 30. This all-day session is targeted to groups.

GrantWRITING Basics | Audrey Wong, Arts Council Silicon Valley
Basic training that covers main components of grant applications, effective writing techniques, how to tell your story. Session will include short writing exercises.

Seeing is Believing | Louise Pencavel, MidPeninsula Community Media Center
Tips on producing an engaging video work sample, as well as information on equipment, software, technical assistance, archiving and storage. Submit your work sample for viewing and critique - learn what works well and what can be improved.
