Arts Council Silicon Valley is a leading voice, advocate, and convener of the arts in our community. ACSV works throughout the region to help cities foster the arts in their community. As part of these advocacy efforts, ACSV disseminates arts-related information and convenes the arts community and external stakeholders.

The Difference Between Advocacy and Lobbying

To advocate is to provide active support, to educate and/or speak in favor of a cause, an issue or an organization
To lobby is any attempt to influence legislation through communication with any member or employee of a legislative body
To grassroots lobby is any attempt to influence legislation through an attempt to affect the opinions of the general public
